What is the

South

of the Future?

What is the

South

of the Future?

The term "South of the Future"

refers to a vision, initiative, or

framework focused on redefining

the role of the Global South in

shaping a sustainable, equitable,

and innovative future.

A platform highlighting Global South innovations in

creative economy, bioeconomy, equality, inclusion and

climate initiatives — centered on impact, climate action,

and green transition — while bridging these solutions

with investors, sponsors, and strategic partners.

We aim to debut a Brazilian-focused edition during

London Climate Action Week (June 2025),

spotlighting Brazil’s pioneers in “sustainable innovation”.

This happens in the same year Brazil will be hosting

COP30 in the heart of the Amazon Forest.

Our mission

Our mission

We want to show to the world the innovations of the Global South for a decarbonized world with social and climate justice.

With an emphasis on:

Participation of the Global South in climate action and decarbonization.

Bridging social justice and climate justice in development models.

Technological and policy innovations rooted in local realities (e.g., bioeconomy, renewable energy).

This concept aligns with debates about decolonizing global agendas and ensuring marginalized regions drive solutions to crises they disproportionately face.

Our team

Ellen Bileski

CEO at Ecomunica

I'm a journalist by training, an entrepreneur and a woman who cares deeply about impact. Today I know that I've been those three things since I was a little girl.

I've been working in communications since the 2000s, with experience in media outlets and agencies, where I've had the opportunity to work with clients from various sectors, such as technology, tourism, fashion, ESG and education. I love learning. I studied programming at the start of my career and in recent years I've focused on intercultural studies, as well as marketing and artificial intelligence for impact and regeneration.

In 2012, my goal was to work with communication in a more impactful and integrated way, which led me to create Ecomunica, a full-service agency that rethinks a number of market beliefs and has already delivered extraordinary results for more than 150 clients. Today we are a certified B company and one of the 50 largest corporate communications agencies in Brazil.
